THE BRAND BRAINS
I remember when I first met Sammy and I say met in the loosest terms, it was more of a stumble, some might even go as far to say divine intervention. I don’t recall when I joined her group “How to Build a Brand” on Facebook but looking back I was a member for almost 6 months with no knowledge of joining, before one day she popped up on my newsfeed.
Already 8 days into her legendary “21 day brand building challenge” I had just been gifted the idea for the Women of Contribution movement and The Pay it Forward Series: Notes to My Younger Self just a couple of months previously and this seemed a great tool to use to lay solid foundation for my new movement and book.
So I immersed myself fully going back over the previous 8 days. As I listened everyday I was just blown away but her confidence, her laughter and the fun presence she had on screen and at the end of the 21 days not only was I convinced I had discovered a real gem, I had learnt so much too.
So I reached out. I love intelligent, phenomenal, great women and knowing you are stepping forward to face your largest mission yet, you know you need good women on board.
I still remember our “Chat” I was and still am blown away by the quickness of her mind, her ability to be creative in ways I never knew were possible and she is the greatest wordsmith ever, cultivating language that truly makes my heart sing, its like she has a direct funnel from above. At the end of the chat I knew I had a soul sister on board and life has never been the same since.
So today I give thanks as she is the reason that “The Pay it Forward Series: Notes to My Younger Self” didn’t get buried under my self doubt and worries about whether I had the right skill or contacts to get this project off the ground.
So it came as no surprise to me when we delved into her history to draw out the right story to share, that a series of events and circumstances presented themselves in a very short period of time and she remembered where her passion and her purpose came from.
A purpose to help others brand themselves, their businesses and make the right impact on the world, all started with one sentence in a playground at the age of five, by one little girl who probably has no recollection of her harsh word and Sammy’s path was set for life.
